Connect an OWON meter

  1. Turn the meter on.
  2. Enable the meter's Bluetooth.
  3. In the app, open the device chip and pick the BDM … entry.

No meter at hand? Try the built-in demo meter. It behaves like a real one, including a 50-pin harness scenario. See the supported meters.

Troubleshooting

Bluetooth is off or the permission was denied. What do I do?

Turn Bluetooth on in your phone's settings, and allow TestNMeasure to use Bluetooth when it asks. If you denied the permission, enable it for TestNMeasure in the phone's app settings and open the device list again. On Android 8 to 11 the system also asks for location permission, and location must be switched on; it is used for Bluetooth scanning only.

The app says the meter is connected to another phone.

A Bluetooth meter accepts one connection at a time. Close any other app that uses the meter, including the manufacturer's own app, or turn Bluetooth off on the other phone. Then scan again from the device chip.

I connected, but no readings appear.

Check that the meter is on and that its function dial is set to a measurement. Move the phone close to the meter, disconnect, switch the meter off and on, and connect again from the device chip.

The wrong unit is shown.

The app shows the function and unit the meter reports, so check the meter's function dial first: for example DC voltage and AC voltage are different functions. If it still looks wrong, send us the details from More → Help & feedback.

My export won't open.

CSV files open in any spreadsheet or text editor. Excel (.xlsx) files need a spreadsheet app. TestNMeasure's own .tnmt and .tnmr files open in TestNMeasure. If a file still won't open, tell us the format and the app you tried.

More answers are in the FAQ.
