Test sequences Pro

Turn a pin table into a test sequence in a minute

Your pin list already exists in a spreadsheet. Import it, map the columns and the app turns each row into a step. Pin-table import is part of Pro; Pro is an in-app upgrade, see Pricing.

iOS and Android, beta this winter.

Pin-table import in TestNMeasure: column mapping screen with a preview of the first resulting steps
Map the columns of your pin table and preview the steps.

Where the table comes from

Paste tab- or comma-separated text from the clipboard, open a .csv, .tsv or .txt file, or open an .xlsx file; the first sheet is read. Up to 2,000 rows are imported.

Map the columns

The app detects a header row. You map your columns to Label, From, To, Group, Expected function, Unit, Min, Max, Nominal, Tolerance %, Instructions, or Ignore. From and To combine into a label of the form From → To. A row with a group value and no label becomes a group header.

Preview before you import

A preview shows the first 20 resulting steps. Unknown units and a minimum above a maximum are flagged per row, and invalid rows can be skipped or fixed.

Pin letters: the label generator

The label generator builds labels from a pattern of prefix, sequence and suffix. The sequence can be numeric, with a start, a step and zero padding, or alphabetic: A to Z, then doubled capitals AA, BB and so on, or a to z. A skip list leaves out letters that connectors don't use: none, I O Q, or l o. That covers circular connectors whose pins run A–Z, AA–GG and a–z. The same generator drives Add N similar steps in the builder.
