Test sequences
Share templates and complete test files
A procedure travels as a .tnmt file and a finished test as a .tnmr file. Both open in the app for free, and sharing needs no account.
iOS and Android, beta this winter.

Open a template
Open a .tnmt from Files, Mail, AirDrop, Nearby Share, a messaging app or Open in TestNMeasure. The import screen shows the name, version, step count, groups, author name if set, and the source app version, with Add to library. Importing the same template and version again offers Open existing or Import as copy. A file from a newer format is refused with "Update TestNMeasure to open this file".
Open a test file
Importing shows a read-only test file marked Imported. Anyone can export it to CSV, and Pro users can export it to Excel and PDF.
What it does and doesn't do (yet)
| What it does | Plan |
|---|---|
| Share a template as a .tnmt file that anyone can open in the app. | Free |
| Share a complete test file, with its attachments, as a .tnmr package anyone can open without an account. | Free |
| Every export ends in the system share sheet, with clear file names. | Free |
Not yet, or not planned
- Importing on the web needs Pro (it saves to your account); the apps import for free.
Questions
Does the recipient need Pro?
No. The apps import .tnmt and .tnmr files for free. Creating or editing templates, and Excel or PDF export, are Pro. Importing on the web needs Pro, because the web saves imports to the account.
Does the file include photos?
A .tnmr packages the run, its frozen template version and all attachments. For packages of 50 MB or more, the app warns first and offers to share without photos.
Can I open a .tnmr without an account?
Yes. The complete record opens without an account.
